Sketch Entries from the warriors

  • CSI: Supposably

It’s a linguistic nightmare… (and forgive me if I went a little overboard – being a huge CSI geek, I was like a kid in a candy store)

INT. HALLWAY OUTSIDE COLLEGE CLASSROOM – NIGHT
Flashlights light up the pitch-black hallway outside a college classroom. CSI HILARIO HECKERT, a middle-aged, stocky geek, and CSI HOLLY OAKS, a middle-aged cougar in stilettos, walk toward the classroom with their flashlights. CAPTAIN MIKE COPPER stands outside the barricaded classroom door.

  • CSI: Anywhere

Just as last week’s topic was a bit of foreign territory for some of the warriors, this week’s topic is a mystery to me. The sum of my knowledge of the CSI family of shows comes from the “Endless Caruso One Liners” video. However, far be it from me to fake what I don’t know.

With this topic, I figured the key was location, location, location. Hope you enjoy.

EXT. ESTABLISHING URBAN BROWNSTONE – DAY
A prewar neighborhood in slight disrepair, but holding it together. Police cars on the street. Sidewalks barricaded.

  • The Big Show

I’m always forget something…and since I was late, I forgot to add the MORE note … hogging the whole front page. Sorry about that! Here’s my take on the folks back home when March Madness brings glory to the local boys…

  • Way Too Literal

It’s been a crazy week. Moving. Laptop died. No cable. Excuse, excuse excuse. Tack on that I know nothing about basketball or this supposed March Madness of which everyone is speaking.

    So I give you…

  • Basketball, Bullies and a Blue Freeze Pop

E.L. Raica comes to us this week with a tale of great athletes and the sacrifices they make. You’ve never seen young men leave it all on the court like this, I guarantee that.

INT. GRADE SCHOOL GYMNASIUM – AFTERNOON
PLAYERS, PARENTS, COACHES, REFEREES, and CAMERA CREWS crowd together in a small, grade school gymnasium during a third grade basketball game. About a dozen third grade boys are milling around the gym floor waiting for play to commence. Announcers, BOB and JIM, sit at a table on the side calling the game.

  • This is March

Ugh. I picked this week’s topic and could NOT be more irritated with myself. March Madness is a time of rejoicing over upsets and crying over busted brackets, not trying to put write sketch comedy! I’m a maroon. Oh well. This one’s…well…not very funny, but it’ll do I guess. Y’all be the judges.

    INT. BASKETBALL ARENA – DAY
Tight on BILL RAFTERY and VERNE LUNDQUIST wearing headsets.

  • Happy Fun Ba’al

  • The Night Watchmen

I always loved these guys. Just wondering what they’d be up to now.

INT. HIGH RISE BUILDING – NIGHT

Frankie and Willie, two very New York sounding night watchmen, patrol the hallways of an office building in Manhattan. They check doors as they walk and talk.

  • Continental Sensitivity

E.L. Raica comes at us with another sketch this week – impressive because apparently she’s been under the weather the past few days with some, uh, alimentary distress. So be sure to leave a nice comment, or a recipe for your grandmother’s remedy. Either one will do, I’m sure.

I think she’s really captured Walken here.
